Professional Acne Extraction at KKEUT Clinic — What Makes Us Different

At KKEUT Clinic, extraction isn’t “just cleansing.”

We approach it as a medical, structured procedure.

  • We secure adequate softening time before extraction through strict appointment management.

  • Delicate needling (to create a controlled exit path) is standard, not optional.

  • We select tools by area and pressure needs (swabs vs. comedo extractor), and design the entire process patient-by-patient.

We remove not only sebum but also inflammatory triggers inside the comedone, helping minimize recurrence. Instead of indiscriminate pressure, we perform targeted, precise extractions to protect the skin.

Our clinicians attend regular in-house seminars and hands-on workshops so technique stays consistent and elevated. Beyond removal, our system is built to support treatment efficacy and relapse prevention.

Why Get Extraction at a Clinic?

Acne isn’t solved by “squeezing.”

When sebum accumulates and the pore outlet closes, a comedone forms: closed comedones become whiteheads, and open ones oxidize into blackheads. These are a food source for C. acnes. As bacteria proliferate, inflammation rises and lesions progress. Removing comedones before they inflame is essential.

The root is hardened sebum—the comedone itself.

If it isn’t removed fully, bacteria persist and acne recurs. Extraction is a key medical step—but done improperly, it can injure skin. That’s why expert-performed extraction in a clinical setting is recommended.

Which Lesions Benefit from Extraction?

  • Visible or palpable blackheads/whiteheads

  • Sebum-loaded lesions on the verge of inflammation

  • Pustular acne with formed pus

  • Post-inflammatory nodules where the redness has subsided but a firm plug remains

Not every lesion should be extracted.
If there’s heat or marked tenderness, inflammation may still be active—pushing can worsen it. In such cases we first calm inflammation (e.g., anti-inflammatory injectables/care), then proceed.

Why Extraction Should Be Done at a Medical Clinic

1) Needling is fundamental.

We always create a controlled channel with a needle, following the follicular axis (often opposite hair growth) to let the plug exit while minimizing trauma—and to reach the base of the comedone.

2) Tool choice must match the skin and lesion.

  • Swab extraction for shallow, sensitive areas

  • Comedo extractor (metal loop) for deep, firm plugs
  • Selection depends on skin thickness, depth, and required pressure. At KKEUT we apply these criteria flexibly to reduce tissue injury.

3) Remove the entire plug.

Expressing just the pus leaves keratin/sebum behind, inviting recurrence. We also include a softening phase to prevent pore overstretching.

4) Correct incision angle & technique.

Wrong angles increase damage. We align needling direction with follicular anatomy.

5) Area-specific protocols.

For example, swabs on the nose, comedone extractor on the chin/paranasal zones; over-pressuring low-resistance areas risks bruising.

6) Infection & scar prevention.

We use single-use swabs, high-temperature sterilization for metal tools, and thorough pre/post antisepsis.

KKEUT Extraction — Step by Step

  1. Thorough cleansing & antisepsis

  2. Sebum-softening agent application and adequate absorption time

  3. Needling along the follicular pathway

  4. Area-specific extraction with the right tool (swab, comedone extractor), plus post-care

Evidence for Medical Extraction

  • JAMA (1964): Regular extraction was associated with a significant reduction in inflammatory acne development.

  • JCAD (2011): Comedone removal positively impacted both patient satisfaction and visible skin appearance.

Taken together, extraction is a core step in acne prevention and management—provided it’s done properly and safely by professionals.

A Note from Our Medical Director

“We meet countless acne patients, and we never forget: extraction is clinical care, not a cosmetic shortcut. Acne can affect self-esteem—so even a single session deserves our full attention. That’s why we study late into the evening with our team, share technique, and think through each patient’s skin together.

Thorough, safe, and tailored extraction—that’s our commitment.”

Extraction isn’t “just squeezing.” It’s a procedure—one to be done at a clinic.

Who Is It For?

  • Those struggling with closed comedones/milia-like ‘bumps’

  • Anyone with recurrent acne who wants a root-cause approach

  • People new to acne care looking to start safely and effectively

Q&A

Q&A

고객님들이 가장 많이 물어보시는 내용을 모았습니다.

What should I do if red marks appear after extraction?

QnA

UV rays can further irritate the skin and cause hyperpigmentation, so you should apply sunscreen carefully. If there isn't enough moisture, the skin can become dry and recovery may be slow. Therefore, it's good to apply moisturizing cream frequently. Finally, avoiding irritating cosmetics and using products with mild ingredients will help skin health.

Can I apply makeup immediately after acne extraction?

QnA

Since your skin is still sensitive and has wounds, it's best to avoid makeup. It's safe to rest and soothe your skin for at least a day before applying light makeup.

Why do red marks last a long time?

QnA

During the wound healing process, causes can include melanin pigmentation or blood vessel dilation. Therefore, consistent moisturizing and sun protection are necessary for management.
